The Reason Why They Say You Are Different…
Satan is a thief. He has been in the business of stealing for a while. He tried to steal God’s position when he was in heaven but he failed (Isaiah 14:12-15). Unfortunately, Adam and Eve fell for his evil schemes and he stole their position of dominion over the earth. However, thanks be to Jesus Christ, we got our dominion back! John 10:10 says, The thief [Satan] comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Glory be to God!
Knowing fully well that all of us are not informed of the good news of Christ’s provision of a joyful and abundant life, Satan persists in stealing our identity. He suggests that we are not good enough and can never measure up to “other” people. He advises that we copy someone else so we can fit in. As a result, we try to look like someone else, talk like someone else or be someone else.
Do not be deceived by his tactics. You were created in the image of God as seen in Genesis 1:27. When God made you, he made a beautiful unique being; incomparable and distinct from others. You are one of a kind and science confirms this by your unique fingerprint. Before you were formed in the belly, God knew you and conferred on you rulership over the earth. Solutions to world problems are uniquely embedded in you. So from today, never wish to be someone else. God loves you as you are, which means if anyone has a problem with the way you are, he or she can take it up with God! Now you understand why people say you are different—You’re unique and its okay to be so!
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14.
Prayer: Dear Father, I am wonderful, I am beautiful and I was fearfully made after your image. I am sorry I tried to be someone else at some point but I realize that I am unique. Give me the grace to see myself as you see me because I know you see me as the best thing that ever happened.
