Now Someone Can Spend Big On You

Confessions of a shopaholic

I heard of a story of the famous entertainer, Michael Jackson. Each time he went shopping, the stores he intended visiting were informed that Mr. Jackson shopped alone. As a result, shoppers had to evacuate the stores before he came in. As I thought of this situation, it made sense to me. The stores made more money from Jackson’s visit in an hour compared to hundreds of customers who bought an item or two. Jackson spent big!

When Christ comes into a person’s life, he takes full control, and does it alone. He transforms that life from ugliness to beauty, mourning to joy, conflicted to peaceful and much more. Christ spends big in you! He paid the ultimate price with his blood and has forgiven all your sins. I mean everything is wiped away! Those who accept his invitation are provided for, protected and their destinies are secured. We gain more from Him than what the world has to offer.

Matthew 6:24 explains that no one can serve two masters at the same time. A person can have everything that the world has to offer—money, power, fame, etc, but what happens when he or she dies? Where will such a person spend eternity? This is the reason it pays more to make Christ Lord over your life. You get to enjoy this life and continue the celebration in heaven, for he gives you eternal life and access to heaven. John 10:10 heartily proclaims that Christ came for you to enjoy this life abundantly. I get to enjoy the best of both worlds—earth and heaven! Isn’t that amazing?

If you do not have Christ in your life, I encourage you to give Him a try. It is very simple. Kindly say this prayer:

Dear Jesus Christ, I thank you for this opportunity to know you. I want to invite you into my life to take full control. I give myself to you and ask that you forgive me for all my wrong doing. From today, I am a new person and I say boldly that you are Lord. I am born again. Thank you Jesus!

If you have just said this prayer, CONGRATULATIONS! You have made a superb decision! Kindly note today’s date because you will begin to see new things happen in your life. Welcome brother! Welcome sister! You are now in the family of Christ.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he or she is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17.
