8 Keys to Unlock True Love

Whenever we see something great, we desire it for our loved ones and ourselves. Here are eight keys to improve our relationships, to be God’s best. We may be strong at some points and weak at others, but the goal is to progress and keep getting better. If you are perfect at all eight, congratulations!…but you are a liar! Lol!

Love is patient- I may not necessarily agree with everything you do, but I will validate and understand your feelings. I am here for you and will never give up on you.

Love is kind- I will go the extra mile for you and do my best to be consistently warmhearted while being affectionate to you. 

Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud- Your success is my success, and your failure is my failure. We are not competitors but a team, so I will not envy you. I will not accommodate the thought of “I’m better than you” but will lift you up. 

Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking- I will respect and honor you. It will not always be about me all the time.

Love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs- I will keep no scores of past hurts and arguments, but I will be forgiving and let it go. Even though I think I may be right at times (*wink), I will not force my opinions on you and tongue lash. Each day, we will start on a clean slate of joy, happiness and no wrong-doing. I will not go to bed having a grudge with you.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth- I will not hide anything from you but will be truthful always. Even if sometimes the truth may cause some tension, I will use wisdom in communicating with you. I will give no room for lies because I know it will introduce darkness into our relationship.

Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres- God so help me, I will safeguard your vulnerabilities, not use your insecurities as a weapon, and keep you from harm. I will let you into the areas of my life that no one has been, knowing you will never use it against me. I will believe the best of you, cherish you and will be open to you. I may not like everything that you do, but I will forbear, understanding that no one is perfect.

Love never fails- You can count on me. We are in this together. You will never be obsolete to me.

Love is patient, love is kind.
