The Steadfast Love of God

I often wonder how someone can love another despite their shortcomings. Humans are generally wired to take care of themselves first before thinking of other people. It therefore does not come as a surprise when a person builds a wall of defense against another person that shows signs of danger. By signs of danger I mean a person who poses a threat of causing hurt. However, when I hear the words from Lamentations 3:22-23, I am always blessed. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. There is a certain bakery that I love their donuts, omg! Why? Because every day they are freshly baked! They have a policy of 100% freshness, so, at the end of each day, they dispose of all leftovers. Every morning, as you pass by you perceive the tantalizing aroma of pastry.

God’s mercy and love for us never cease. They are new every morning, so you are guaranteed a constant dose. Without this fresh dose of mercy and love, it would definitely be an ugly and dark world. I want to encourage you today to have a new refill of love, kindness and mercy each day for others. As God pours out his undying love for you daily, do so for others.
