What To Do During Downtime

downtime

We all have downtimes. I am yet to see anyone who doesn’t. We strive to be better each day, with a constant drive to succeed. Our brains and minds work around the clock—conceiving ideas, thinking about the next best thing, analysing how to solve the various problems that we face, to mention a few. It gets to a point that our systems are put on overdrive, as we constantly push ourselves. When we do not see the light at the end of the tunnel, or our desires come into fruition as expected, despair sets in, consequently leading to ‘downtime’—We are fed up! We’ve had it! This is applicable to most situations in our lives, including our relationships, aspirations, endeavours, etc. Invariably, it doesn’t come as a surprise when anxiety, worry or doubt sets in. The tendency to give up and throw in the towel is strong. Now, this is a vital period of time in ones life as it can either make or break you.  What you do in your downtime determines the trajectory of your destiny. If you give up during this period, you would have lost the war to the evil one whose plan is to make you redundant…a failure…a nonentity (ok you get my point). See what the New Living Translation of the Bible in Micah 7:8 says

Do not gloat over me, my enemies!
For though I fall, I will rise again.
Though I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be my light.

In summary here are some pointers to help you during your downtime:

  1. Refuse to be defeated or remain in your downtime
  2. Know deep down for sure that you will rise again!
  3. Speak positive and faith words: Verbally declare “I am a winner and will never be defeated in Jesus name! I may be down now but not permanently. I’m coming out of it now!” Yes I mean, speak it out loudly
  4. Do not stay in isolation or in any environment that feeds on your downtime. For example, listening to sad music in the form of sorrowful/defeated lyrics will only fuel your downtime

Another important pointer is that during your downtime, you can read inspiring posts from Eightminuteword.com…LOL

I see you coming out of your downtime! Be blessed!
